Wavara exists because no app connected your weight and your cycle. We thought that was weird, so we fixed it.
Why we built this
We watched someone we care about step on the scale, see the number go up, and feel like they'd failed. They hadn't eaten more. They hadn't skipped workouts. But the number moved anyway.
It took months of research to understand why: the menstrual cycle drives water retention, metabolism shifts, and appetite changes that can move weight by 1–3 kg in a single week. Luteal phase alone accounts for most of it. And it reverses.
The problem was context. Weight apps show a line going up and leave you to feel bad about it. Cycle apps track periods but never mention weight. Nothing connected the two.
So we built the thing that should have existed.
Honest with you
Wavara won't blame your hormones for a bad week of eating. If the number went up because of what you ate, the app isn't going to pretend otherwise.
But if you've been disciplined, sticking to your plan, hitting your workouts, and the scale still jumps a kilo overnight around day 21? That's probably luteal water retention. It'll come back down. You deserve to know that before you throw your plan out the window.
That's the line we walk. Honest about what's food. Honest about what's hormones.
Worth saying: weight is complicated. Thyroid conditions, PCOS, medications, stress, sleep, and a dozen other things all affect the number on the scale. Wavara can show you what your cycle is doing, but it can't see the full picture of your health. If something feels off, please talk to your doctor. We're a tracking app, not a medical one.
Your body also asks for different things depending on where you are in your cycle. Energy drops, appetite shifts, recovery changes. Whilst every single body is different, there can be a lot of overlap in what can help us understand the commonalities between us all. We are here to support each other as well we can. We won't hand you a meal plan, but we'll show you what's going on so you can give your body what it needs.

We won't sugarcoat your data or hide trends you might not want to see. But we'll always give you context. A number without context is just anxiety.
